Over the course of several decades, multiple artists have contributed to the painted portrait of Mao, replicated by this poster. The original painting, hanging at the Tiananmen gate has been re-painted for restoration every year, in a collaboration among artists including Zhang Zhenshi, Wang Guodong and Ge Xiaoguang. This is an unusually large version of this poster - said to be the largest.
